PHOTOGRAPH 03 — NORTHERN BOUNDARY, DATE UNKNOWN
The photograph was recovered by Gordon near the northern boundary. The individual who took it was not. Only his camera remained, suspended within the roots of the Horntak. Gordon insists he was not taken. He was returned.
They guard us with an unnatural power concealed from the outside world. The roots know our blood, but hunger does not recognize family. . .

THE WEAPON
UNITED STATES GAS DEFENSE PROGRAM: 1918
During the Great War, Henry Ozley was assigned to a classified military research unit studying chemical exposure and respiratory defense. Among the materials recovered from the northern sector was a living fungal specimen that produced a dense yellow vapor.
The specimen became known as H-7. The work that followed was recorded under one name:
Project Yellow Burn

THE PERIMETER
THE VALLEY ENDS WHERE IT DECIDES.
The boundary shown below was first recorded by Henry Ozley and later corrected by Gordon Dunbar. It does not mark the edge of our land.It marks the last place from which an outsider returned unchanged.
Each symbol marks a successful Return. Those surrendered to the Valley no longer carry the weakness of human form. They have taken root. They have become whole.
They are the Horntak.
